The GOP-leaning polling unit has had two recent national polls: February 6 and Febrary 14. In the first Romney led the field by 7 points. In the second Santorum led by 12 points. That's a swing among disproportionately white, senior Republicans of 19 points in a week.
I see no way this isn't related to the three electoral victories, but also the contraception/religious freedom wars. In Michigan, Rasmussen has found a similar swing from Romney to Santorum of 18 points in roughly the same period.
(For what it's worth, the more recent polls in Michigan have taken Rasmussen's current 3 point lead over Romney and made it 8.2 points.)
I repeat my view that the Obamneycare/contraception issue combined with the religious liberty question has dramatically altered the race. Yesterday, on Joe Morning, Joe Scarborough called this analysis "so last week." He is "so MSM."
