Ask Jane Mayer Anything

[Updated from yesterday with many great questions added by readers]

From her bio:

Jane Mayer joined The New Yorker as a staff writer in March, 1995. Based in Washington, D.C., she writes about politics for the magazine, and has been covering the war on terror. Recent subjects include Alberto Mora and the Pentagon’s secret torture policy, how the United States outsources torture (rendition), the prison at Guantánamo Bay, and the legality of C.I.A. interrogations.

Jane is most notable for her superb 2008 book The Dark Side: The Inside Story of How the War on Terror Turned Into a War on American Ideals, which the Dish covered at length. She has most recently reported on the powerful Koch brothers and the raving lunatic Bryan Fischer, and she will be writing a lot about the influence of outside money this political season. Follow her stuff here. To submit a question for Jane, simply enter it into the field at the top of the Urtak poll (ignore the "YES or NO question" aspect and simply enter any open-ended question). We primed the poll with questions you can vote on right away – click "Yes" if you are interested in seeing her answer the question or "No" if you don't particularly care. We will air her responses soon.
