Obama is now at 50 percent in the Gallup tracking poll. Rasmussen still believes the country is on a knife edge. In 2004, on this date, Bush was leading 52 – 44. But Kerry was about to make a huge comeback. Hence this lack of complacency from the Obama campaign:
