The Vatican has demanded that Holocaust-denier and 9/11 Truther Richard Williamson recant his views. Radosh asks:
…can anyone envision an even remotely satisfying statement that Williamson could make at this point?
And this is not the real issue here. The real issue is why Benedict would seek to end a schism with a faction of anti-Semitic reactionaries. This is encouraging:
In addition to its demand of Williamson, the Vatican also said the society as a whole must fully recognize the teachings of Vatican II and of all popes who came during and after it in order to have a legitimate canonical function in the church.
But they were founded to resist Vatican II. This really is a papal clusterfuck, if you ask me.
