A reader asks:
What happened to all that bullshit about not using ‘neocon’ as a lazy term? What’s lazy, it seems to me, is always labeling the so-called ‘neocon right’ as duplicitous and mendacious — do you really think that they’re calling a victory primarily because they want to get revenge at some later date!? Can you honestly see David Frum, Richard Perle or John Bolton doing that? Okay, maybe Bolton. And what about Eli Lake or Reihan Salam? They’re both on the neocon right. Could you really imagine them using a failure in Iraq to attack Obama? Can you please define who you’re talking about when you use the term ‘neocon right’?
