But where are Lincoln’s Joshua and David*? I mean, he slept in the same bed with Derickson in the White House when his wife was away. I don’t think the excuse for Lincoln’s sleeping with Speed applies: poverty and lack of space. I guess sleeping next to a young, strapping soldier every night was just comforting in the civil war. Not that Lincoln was gay or anything. That’s just totally absurd.
