…for most people, cap-and-trade offers nothing besides the feeling of virtue. You can’t take it home with you. You can’t use it, spend it, rely on it, except in the most abstract long-term sense. It’s an upkeep cost on the environment, promising a high cost in exchange for nothing more than maintaining the status quo.
