Scientists for the first time have captured the transfer of HIV from infected cells to healthy ones:
They noted that when an infected cell came into contact with a healthy one, a bridge was created between them, called a virological synapse. […] For decades it was believed that HIV was mostly spread around the body through freely circulating particles, which attach themselves to a cell, take over its replication machinery and make multiple copies of themselves.
I’ve long since come to terms with my own virus, and admire its tenacity in a way. It lives in the same universe as we do and is trying to survive and replicate like the rest of us.
