Massie's quoting of Toby Harnden on the deference given to politicians by the American press reminds me of a recent ad by CNN:
The unintended message: Why bother with stenography when you can just hand the mic to the source? Copyranter, for his part, calls the ad "a goofy first-thought idea. And, it's an unoriginal idea."
