Like Alison Krauss and Union Station, I'm moving on. My thanks to Andrew for his generous invitation to help man the fort while he takes a deserved vacation. It's always a pleasure to hang out at the Dish. Not least because Patrick, Chris and Zoe are such generous and helpful hosts. They do a power of work that keeps the Dish humming and are indispensable to what it has become.
So too are Dish readers. Thank you for your emails on country music, the War of 1812, the antichrist, college football and, of course, Rupert Murdoch and his scandalous newspapers. If I didn't get around to writing about other things or I failed to follow up on your comments and suggestions, well, that's another thing to blame Rupert for.
Readers interested in his appearance before parliament on Tuesday should know they can (probably) watch it online at the BBC News site (though perhaps CSPAN will show it too). The games begin at 9.30am EST.
It's been swell being here this week and thanks to all of you for your help in making it so. Even the guy who wrote apologising for the tone of his email but "your post on this made me want to punch you in the face."
One last indulgence: I usually blog here and also recommend – for those of you keenly interested in British politics - you check out my colleagues on the Spectator's Coffee House blog. Come and say hello there. Or you can find me on Twitter here or email me at alexmassieATgmail.com
Thanks again.
