I would love to see somebody buck the current trend of using vampires as either props in an action flick or eye candy in a silly teenage romance. The reasons vampires are fascinating is because they’re the most human of the Gothic monsters – and the most beautiful. There’s a seduction and deadliness about vampires that zombies and werewolves simply don’t possess. Yet we squander our vampire stories on cheap thrills.
