in the little house
breath rising, falling
unreceived…
What did I love most in that house? What did you? I loved
the most the early summer mornings, lying, touching, in the
farmer’s square bedroom, the window lightening on the left, the
south, the home-made bed,
the beach we had swum for, old, the dog
kissing us—
