Krauthammer’s Adjusted Column

Well, we all work on deadlines. But a column heralding Romney's need to back the traditional allies – to do little but provide "effusive expressions of affection for his hosts" and "appreciation for close allies, something the current president has conspicuously failed to do" – somewhat backfires, given the day's events. And I guess Charles hasn't noticed the British prime minister's obvious rapport with the current president – or the spectacular State Dinner that helped cement the two-way love-in.

But he does work in a small concession to Mitt's success at alienating every single Brit on all sides of the political spectrum. Romney's discussion of the London Olympics was, in Charles' view, "inexplicably dumb and gratuitous." That's the only mention of the day's events I can find on any right-wing website. Their discipline is remarkable.
