
I remember vividly testifying on DOMA in 1996 before the US Congress, and walking in to the hearing to discover that president Clinton, advised by Dick Morris, had just issued a Justice Department guidance that DOMA was completely constitutional. The times they change. I don't know what to predict, and, frankly would have preferred a later date. But you cannot stop people filing suits for their basic civil rights, and the issues are profound enough to come to the Supreme Court. Immigration Equality's take is here.
