The Gall Of Clinton

One of the benefits of this campaign has been to remind all of us what a shameless opportunist the former president is:

Clinton was 42 in 1988, four years younger than Obama is now. Already one of the nation’s longest serving governors, Clinton accomplished little between 1988 and 1992 that added to his depth of experience — other than winning a fifth term as Arkansas governor while promising not to seek the presidency before his term expired.

He ran against one of the most experienced incumbent president of the century: a two-term veep, former head of the CIA and incumbent president who presided masterfully over the end of the Cold War. And he says Obama is no match for a former First Lady? If Democrats buy this transparent b.s., they’ll deserve the candidate they nominate.

A Fecal Transplant

No, not a last minute tactic from the floundering Clinton campaign. A genuine alternative to eating yogurt:

What if, instead of re-constitituing healthy gut flora one species at a time, you could simply take the entire fecal contents from a healthy person and use it to re-colonize your own gut–in other words, undergo a fecal transplant? Yes, it’s like probiotics on steroids: getting an infusion of someone else’s gut flora in order to re-establish a healthy gut ecology of your own, and squeeze out some potentially harmful organisms along the way. A recent story discusses this treatment for patients suffering Clostridium difficile infections in Scotland, but it’s actually not brand-new, and has already surfaced in the peer-reviewed literature.

 I kid you not.

Ooops

Photos of Mitt Romney’s attendance at a 1994 Planned Parenthood fundraiser have hit the wires. A pro-abortion activist remembers:

"They were both there, and I remember very well chatting with both of them, and talking about his support for the pro-choice agenda. We talked about the fact that he was taking a pro-choice position on the issues, and we were very pleased about that."

Huckabee On Homosexuality

We’re not as bad as the corpse-screwers. But we’re on the same spectrum. For some reason, Huck thinks that sado-masochism is right out there on the aberrant spectrum with necrophilia. He really ought to get out more. I’m not into S&M myself, but there are a lot of happily married and unmarried couples who are. I don’t see why politicians should have any position on various sexual proclivities myself.
